In its northern part, Orléans Forest espouses the curves of the Loire River. It is criss-crossed by thousands of kilometres of forest roads, a legacy of royal hunts. Its present wealth is the result of the work done by foresters in the past. With 35,000 hectares, it is the biggest state-owned forest in France. And with a little luck on a fine spring day, you might observe three species of eagle.
